What Does a Recurring Bin Cleaning Subscription Actually Include?
Every recurring plan includes the same cleaning: high-pressure water heated to about 200 degrees, sanitizing of the interior and exterior, and a deodorizing treatment on up to two bins, done curbside on your regular pickup day. The only difference between plans is how often we come out.

Most people asking this question have already decided they want the bins cleaned. What they actually want to know is what happens on the day, how much of their time it costs, and if the cheaper plan is a worse clean. Short answer on that last one: it is not.

What Happens on a Cleaning Day
The service is built so that you do nothing differently. You put the can out for trash pickup like any other week.
After the sanitation truck empties your bin, our truck comes by the same day and cleans it at the curb. High-pressure water heated to roughly 200 degrees strips the residue off the interior walls and floor of the can, which is where odor and bacteria actually live. The exterior gets cleaned too, including the lid and the handle, since those are the parts your hands touch. Then a deodorizing treatment goes in before the can is set back.
The wash water is captured rather than left in your driveway or run into the storm drain. You do not need to be home, and you do not need to leave anything out beyond the bin itself.
Every Plan Gets the Same Clean
This is the part worth being explicit about, because it is where most people assume there is a catch.
A quarterly customer is not getting a lighter service than a monthly customer. Same equipment, same water temperature, same sanitizing, same deodorizer, same two bins. The plans differ in one dimension only: how many weeks pass between visits.
What frequency actually changes is how much buildup is there when we arrive. A can cleaned every four weeks never gets far from clean. A can cleaned every twelve weeks accumulates more between visits, which means it spends more of the year in a dirtier state even though each individual cleaning is identical.

Why One-Time Costs More Than a Monthly Visit
This surprises people, so here is the honest reason rather than a marketing answer.
A one-time clean is $60 while a monthly visit is $30. The difference is not the cleaning, it is the routing. Recurring customers are grouped into an efficient route on a known day. A one-time job is a separate trip scheduled around that route, and that trip costs the same to run for one can or ten.
There is also the buildup factor. A first-time or occasional clean is usually working against months of residue, which takes longer than maintaining a bin we saw four weeks ago.
Most people who book a one-time clean end up subscribing afterward, which is why we do not push the subscription up front. Try it once and decide.

How to Pick Your Frequency
Choose based on what goes in the can, not on the calendar.
Go monthly if your household produces diapers, pet waste, seafood or meat scraps, or if the can lives in a garage or anywhere near a door. Those are the conditions that generate odor fastest, and the garage bin problem in particular is its own situation.
Go bi-monthly if you are a smaller household that bags well and the can lives away from the house. Go quarterly if it is one or two people, mostly dry waste, and you mainly want to stop long-term buildup.
One honest note on seasonality: summer is when bins turn, and North Alabama summer runs long. A quarterly plan that feels right in February often feels thin by July. You can change frequency, and plenty of customers run monthly through the warm months and step down after.
What a Subscription Does Not Do
Worth saying plainly, because overselling this is easy.
A subscription does not make your bin permanently odor-free. Each cleaning resets the can by removing the residue that feeds odor-causing bacteria, and then new waste starts the cycle again. It also does not replace bagging discipline. Tie your bags, double-bag anything wet, and keep the lid closed. A cleaned bin filled with loose food waste is a dirty bin again in a week.

Can I cancel a recurring plan?
Yes, after the three cleaning minimum. That minimum exists because the first clean is usually the heaviest, and one visit does not represent what the service actually does for a bin over time.
Do you clean recycling bins too?
Yes. Recycling cans get the same treatment and are often overlooked, since people assume a recycling bin stays clean. Residue from bottles, cans, and food containers builds up the same way.
What happens if I miss a pickup week?
Nothing breaks. We clean on your scheduled service day, emptied or not, though a bin that still has trash in it cannot be cleaned properly. If your pickup was missed, tell us and we will move your cleaning to the next cycle.
Is monthly overkill for a small household?
Sometimes, and we will say so. Two people producing mostly dry waste are usually fine on bi-monthly or quarterly. Monthly earns its price when there is pet waste, diapers, or food scraps involved.
